Itinerary

Day-by-day itinerary

Day1

Agadir → Taroudant → Taznakht → Ait Ben Haddou → Ouarzazate

After pick-up from your accommodation in Agadir, we head inland through the Souss Valley and Taroudant, the “little Marrakech”, with its mud-brick walls. We continue through Taliouine and Taznakht, a land of saffron and handmade carpets.

We reach the imposing kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified ksar declared a World Heritage Site, where we have time to explore before continuing to Ouarzazate, the gateway to the desert, for the night.

Accommodation: Night in Ouarzazate — Bochedor or similar

Day2

Ouarzazate → Valley of Roses → Todra Gorge → Merzouga

After breakfast we travel through the Skoura oasis and the Valley of Roses to the Todra Gorges, a canyon with sheer walls up to 300 metres high, where we stop for a walk and lunch.

We continue through Tinejdad and Erfoud to Merzouga. At sunset we ride camels across the Erg Chebbi dunes to the Berber camp, where a traditional dinner, live music by the fire and a night under a star-filled sky await us.

Accommodation: Night in Merzouga — Tawada Camp or similar

Day3

Merzouga → Rissani → Nkob → Agdez

Those who wish can enjoy the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast we ride back by camel and visit Rissani, with its lively souk and age-old trading atmosphere, the cradle of the Alaouite dynasty.

We continue through an almost lunar landscape via Alnif, Tazarine and Nkob, the “village of a hundred kasbahs”, following the ancient caravan route to Agdez, at the gateway to the Draa Valley, where we spend the night.

Accommodation: Night in Nkob — Nakhil Kasbah or similar

Day4

Agdez → Taznakht → Taliouine → Taroudant → Agadir

On our last day we climb towards Taznakht, famous for its Berber carpets and textiles, crossing the mountain passes of the Anti-Atlas with their panoramic views.

We stop in Taliouine, the saffron capital, and in Taroudant before descending once more through the Souss Valley to Agadir, where we arrive in the late afternoon, bringing this complete circuit to an end.

About this tour

Yes. We pick you up at your hotel in Agadir and the circuit ends at the same point. If you prefer, we can also finish in Marrakech on request.

One night at the Erg Chebbi camp (Merzouga). The other two nights are in a hotel or riad, in Ouarzazate and Agdez.

The 4-day tour adds the Draa Valley, Rissani and the villages of Nkob and Agdez, at a more relaxed pace and with a different return route.

Spring and autumn are ideal thanks to their mild weather. The tour runs all year round; in summer it is best to start early, and in winter to wrap up warm for the desert nights.

Yes. As it is a private tour, we adapt the pace. The camel ride is optional and you can reach the camp by 4×4.

Of course. All our tours are private: we can change hotels, add nights or adjust stops to suit your preferences.
