Day-by-day itinerary

Day1

Tangier – Chefchaouen (the Blue Pearl)

We pick you up at the port, the airport or your hotel in Tangier. Our Morocco tour begins with a scenic drive south towards the Rif Mountains. Our destination is the fascinating blue city of Chefchaouen.

After checking in at your riad, you have free time to wander its peaceful blue streets, shop for local crafts and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. Dinner and overnight in Chefchaouen.

Accommodation: Night in Chefchaouen — Dare Chchaouen or similar

Day2

Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez

After breakfast we head for the imperial city of Fes. On the way we stop at the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can walk among well-preserved mosaics and arches.

Next, a short drive takes us to the imperial city of Meknes, known for its great Bab Mansour gate and the enormous royal stables. After a tour of Meknes, we continue to Fes. Dinner and overnight at your riad/hotel.

Day3

Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert

After breakfast we leave Fez and travel towards the Sahara Desert. We drive through Ifrane, known as “the Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style architecture, and the cedar forests of Azrou, where you can see Barbary macaques.

The landscape changes dramatically as we cross the Middle Atlas Mountains and descend into the impressive Ziz Valley, dotted with palm oases. We reach the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes at Merzouga in the afternoon.

After a warm welcome with mint tea, you mount your camels for a magical trek across the dunes to watch the sunset. You spend the night in a luxury desert camp under a blanket of stars, with traditional Berber music and a delicious dinner.

Day4

Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley – Ouarzazate

After a last sunrise in the desert we begin our Morocco tour towards Ouarzazate. We drive through the Todra Gorge, a massive canyon popular with climbers, where you can walk beside the river at its base.

Next we travel through the impressive Dades Valley, known for its unique rock formations (“monkey fingers”). We continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert” and famous for its film studios. Dinner and overnight in Ouarzazate.

Day5

Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Alto Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast we visit the Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate. A short drive then takes us to the famous Ksar of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and setting for many Hollywood films (Gladiator, Game of Thrones).

After exploring the kasbah we cross the spectacular Tizi n'Tichka pass over the High Atlas Mountains. The views are breathtaking, with constantly changing landscapes. We arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight in Marrakech.

Day6

Marrakech – Casablanca – Departure

On the last day of your Morocco tour, we drive you from Marrakech to Casablanca. Depending on your flight time, we can arrange a visit to the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world.

Afterwards we transfer you to Casablanca Mohammed V Airport for your departure, bringing your 6-day Moroccan adventure to an end.
